10 Comic Book Movies That Survived Behind The Scenes Turmoil
7. A Badly Behaved Cast Member? - Iron Man And Iron Man 2
Empire star Terrence Howard hasnt exactly been quiet regarding his feelings on being replaced by Don Cheadle as Tony Starks sidekick Jim Rhodes in Iron Man 2, though depending on who you believe the talented actor may have brought it on himself. In various interviews, Howard has claimed that Marvel Studios reneged on his contract and offered him far less than the whopping $3.5 million he was paid for the first film much more than other cast members, including Robert Downey Jr who was only paid a paltry (ha!) $500,000 for Iron Man 2, which he and his agent both balked at. But reports surfaced of Howards difficult behaviour on set and director Jon Favreaus dissatisfaction with his performance resulting in many reshoots but whatever the real reason, Cheadle was brought in and Iron Man 2 proved just as successful as the first film without Howards presence. The Results: The first film was great, no matter how Howard behaved, and though Don Cheadle has grown into the role, Iron Man 2 was a disappointing starting point. Whether Howard would have done any better is up for debate though as the film was a creative mess.
