10 Comic Book Spin-Offs Of Iconic Horror Franchises
3. Jason Voorhees
With his hulking great physique, iconic hockey mask and frequently enormous machete, Friday the 13th's Jason Voorhees always was an excellent fit for comic book adaptations and spin-offs. While, like most of his peers, his comic book adventures have hardly been voluminous, he's had more than most. And (with the notable exception of the rubbish Jason Goes to Hell adaptation), many have been pretty good.
In addition to his time spent with Avatar and WildStorm, Jason's most notable comic book adventure so far is one which he shared with another slasher icon... Leatherface.
Jason vs Leatherface (Topps Comics, 1995) sees Jason expelled from his home at Camp Crystal Lake and upturned in Slaughter County, Texas: home of Leatherface and his family. While the two idiot sons get on at first, they're forced into a position of opposition when Jason turns on Leatherface's family.
After the pair fight each other to a standstill, Jason retreats, having lost the only friend he ever made. Apart from mother, of course.
