3. Hela the Goddess of Death
Hela is the nine realms equivalent of Hades from Greek mythology, only much sexier. She is the ruler of Hel, the realm of the dead, and Niffleheim, the realm of the dishonoured dead, but she is not content just ruling two realms. She wants to rule over all of the dead, and that includes the realm of the dead heroes, Valhalla. She is the daughter of Loki and a giantess, and stands well above normal sized Asgardians like Thor and Loki. She has superhuman strength, speed, stamina and slower ageing like other Agardians and wears a magical cloak that further enhances her powers. The cloak also conceals her true form as sickly and half decaying. Hela has appeared in Avengers: Earths Mightiest Heroes animated series and in the animated feature Hulk Vs Thor where she shows that she does not always follow her fathers wishes. Likelihood of appearing: When Kat Dennings was cast in the original Thor film, many people speculated that she might be playing Hela. Even when it was confirmed that she was playing the Jane Fosters research assistant Darcy Lewis, it was still thought that she could be Hela in disguise (which Hela has the power to do). Dennings will have an expanded role in Thor: The Dark World, which leaves the possibility of her character being revealed as Hela. If Dennings is not Hela, it is still quite likely that Hela will appear in The Dark World. It has been confirmed that the film will explore much more of the nine realms, which includes Helas realm of Hel and Niffleheim.
