10 Up-And-Coming Actors You Should Know About

8. Chadwick Boseman

Chadwick Boseman has been largely a television actor over the past few years, appearing on shows like Fringe, Castle, and Persons Unknown. His biggest film role to date was as Jackie Robinson in the underrated 42. But this year is going to be different. Because this year, he's been tasked with playing the larger-than-life James Brown in his biopic, Get on Up. Playing real-life historical figures is almost always a recipe for critical praise, especially when the person is a beloved music legend. His performance as James Brown looks charming and captivating, and with industry pros Viola Davia and Octavia Spencer by his side, we're sure he'll knock this one out of the park. He's also got a big budget action film in the works, called Gods of Egypt. This adventure fantasy is about a thief who joins a god on a quest through ancient Egypt, and will see Boseman up against Gerard Butler, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and another young actor on this list, Brenton Thwaites. Gods of Egypt is due to hit theaters February 2016.
