10. Comedy Movie Sequels

Before you head straight down into the comments box to rip me a new one, think on this: how many genuinely
good comedy sequels can you name? Um... well... there's that... it's... you can't name any, can you? If somebody came to me and said, "Should we stop all comedy sequels for the rest of time from happening?", though, I would certainly have been all like, "No! Comedy sequels are great! There are loads of good ones!" But there aren't. There are barely any. I mean, there are a few passable ones, like
Back to the Future Part II (not strictly a comedy, though), and, uh,
Rush Hour 2 was okay, I guess, but try to think of a bonafide comedy sequel (
Toy Story 2 and
3 are too genre-varied to count as fully-fledged comedy movies, I think) that was as good as the original, or can truly stand on its own two feet. I'm struggling, to be honest. Fact is, there are so few that we can just probably all agree now to leave comedy sequels alone forever.
