Release Date: August 17

The Happytime Murders might be the oddest movie on this list, but if its weird concept is executed in the right way, it could be one of 2018's most memorable movies.

Set in a world where puppets and humans live alongside each other, the movie follows Phil, a puppet ex-cop trying to track down a serial killer who's murdering cast members of an '80s television series called The Happytime Gang. Eventually, Phil becomes the suspect in his own case, and is forced to go on the run while hunting down the real culprit.

Melissa McCarthy and Elizabeth Banks co-star, with direction courtesy of Brain Henson, who's famous for helming The Muppet Christmas Carol.

With McCarthy joining the cast there is a worry that The Happytime Murders will take a lowest-common-denominator approach to its humour, but if Henson can reign her in and give the movie a funny, yet sinister edge, this could possibly be 2018's most unique comedy.
