10 Cool-Sounding Upcoming Movies That We Really Don’t Need

2. Finding Dory

Why It Sounds Cool: If you were to ask a Pixar fan which movie most deserves a sequel, the answer would be... OK, they'd say The Incredibles, but eventually (and before the likes of Up and Ratatouille, which boast definitive ends) they'd say Finding Nemo. Well good for them, because Andrew Stanton's sublime fish family comedy drama is getting a follow on, this time focusing on Ellen DeGeneres' forgetful Royal Blue Tang. There's a couple more Pixar films to arrive before now and Dory, but with such a high-profile original to bolster it, this is the one with most people's eyes on. Why We Don't Really Need It: Remember when we said Johnny Depp ran back to Wonderland after The Lone Ranger bombed? Well that's nothing compared to what's going on here. Stanton's John Carter, bastardised by committee, was a terrible flop, and less than a few months afterwards he was prepping Finding Dory, hiding in the safety of proven popularity. At least Wonderland was already being mooted. Stanton has proven himself a competent director, holding two Oscars for Finding Nemo and Wall-E, but even then it's hard to look past the very selfish motivations behind his latest film. Ask a Pixar fan which movie most needs a sequel and they wouldn't say Nemo.
