7. Star Trek And Star Wars Take Place In The Same Universe

Look back to Revenge of the Sith and you will see that a suspiciously familiar alien species has representatives in the Republic senate. This has led fans to speculate that when ET wanted to phone home, his home planet wasn’t in the Milky Way but instead in a galaxy far, far away.

But if Easter eggs constitute evidence, then Star Trek and Star Wars are joined at the hip. R2-D2 makes a cameo In Star Trek: Into Darkness, seen being sucked out of a damaged Enterprise. In Star Trek: First Contact, the Millennium Falcon makes a brief, blink-and-you’ll-miss-it appearance, blasting out of a Borg cube. And perhaps most interestingly, the schematics of a Borg sphere look near identical to the Death Star.

The theory is nothing more than a bit of fun, but it does raise an interesting question. What if Palpatine, exploring the Unknown Regions, came across a Borg sphere, and took inspiration for the Death Star? And what if his formation of the Empire was motivated not by power, but by the desire to protect the galaxy from a Borg invasion?

It will never happen but if there was good ground for a crossover...
