10 Creepiest Child Villains In Horror Movies
4. Isaac - Children Of The Corn
In Children of the Corn, Burt and Vicky stumble upon a seemingly abandoned village called Gatlin, only to learn it has been taken over by a cult of children. Their leader, a 12-year-old called Isaac Chroner, intends to sacrifice the couple to revive the ancient deity, He Who Walks Behind the Rows.
Since Isaac is too young to overpower anyone with strength alone, he uses other tactics to rally his subjects into action. Through manipulative rhetoric and rabble-rousing, Isaac brainwashes the town's inhabitants so they perceive him as a saviour and obey him without question.
Although Isaac is fascinating, the character wouldn't have worked if he was portrayed by a less-experienced actor. So, instead of casting a child in the role, the director cleverly hired John Franklin, a 24-year-old who looks half his age due to a growth deficiency. Although the audience totally buys Isaac as a kid, Franklin's age allows him to bring more gravitas and menace than a child would be able to.
This adaptation of Stephen King's short story may not be anything special but Franklin's depiction as Isaac is definitely the highlight.
