10 Creepiest Child Villains In Horror Movies

5. The Cuckoos - Village Of The Damned

The 1960 film, Village of the Damned, is based on the 1957 novel, The Midwich Cuckoos. The story begins with every woman of childbearing age in a town becoming pregnant simultaneously, even though some of them have never had sex. The children are all born on the same day and bear white hair and hypnotically bright eyes.

As they age, it becomes evident the children have a hive-mind, allowing them to think as a single unit. Not only that, they have telepathic and telekinetic powers, which they use to kill anyone they desire.

What makes the Cuckoos so chilling is how they never seem to act like children. Instead of being bratty or hyperactive, they behave maturely, speak like adults, dress impeccably, and rarely display emotion. Ironically, it is this calm demeanour that makes the Cuckoos so spooky. Watching them use their powers to force their victims to kill themselves without a shred of compassion is deeply eerie.

The Cuckoos may not look outright terrifying but their subtly odd mannerisms and appearance has allowed them to maintain a reputation as one of the creepiest characters in film.
