10 Creepiest Children In Horror Movies

3. The Omen (1976)

Village Of The Damned 1995 John Carpenter
20th Century Studios

Born in the 6th hour on the 6th day of the 6th month; everything in this film is carefully orchestrated to make you believe Damien’s true identity as the Antichrist. The amazing film score and cinematography both contribute to his creepy overall appearance and the incredible performance by young Harvey Stephens utterly convince you that he is more than just a boy.

Damien is never aggressive or angry, he is always calm and measured. The only time he is shown to be at all violent is when his parents attempt to take him inside a church. His ability to make people and animals do his bidding without any overt persuasion measures shown has a doubly frightening effect.

You are afraid he could either coerce you into doing something for him (like his original nanny who threw herself off the roof top), or you are afraid that he is controlling someone else who could harm you (such as the murder of his mother).

He is utterly unstoppable and remorseless, and with the appearance of an innocent boy, he is instinctively protected by anyone witnessing him being attacked. His self-awareness allows him to play the part of the scared little boy when he needs to, but also shows him to be confidently evil. When he stares directly into the camera and smiles at you at the end of the film you really feel like he is coming for you next!
