10 Creepiest Scary Moments In Kid-Friendly Movies

5. Pink Elephants On Parade - Dumbo

Boy, have Disney movies changed. There was a time when a cartoon could show monstrous humans abusing animals, villainous clowns so scheming and cruel, and a baby elephant and a mouse getting drunk together. Those were the days, huh?

It is during the drunken slumber of that mute baby elephant that audiences were treated to the avant garde artistic nightmare that was Pink Elephants on Parade. Defying logic, narrative, and even clear physical form, the sequence stretched and squashed these nightmare creatures to their breaking point (in one case actually tearing the smiling face of an evil elephant right in half).

It is beautiful and haunting to a mature adult who understands its purpose and the talent behind its creation. For children, it's literally just the most potent nightmare fuel imaginable.
