10 Criminally Underrated Monster Movies
7. Animal
Sometimes a title really can say it all, and all a film needs to succeed is a monster and some poor unfortunates for the thing to terrorize.
Case in point, check out the simply titled Animal, an underrated bare-bones monster horror from 2014 which sees a set of relatively happy campers attacked in a remote cabin by the eponymous mysterious monster.
There's no attempts at backstory, satire, metaphor, or misguided pseudo-philosophy in this one (looking at you, 2016's overrated indie The Monster). Instead, we're simply given a cool monster, one setting, and a range of forgettable former child actors for it to tear through.Ideal.
