10 Most Cringeworthy Moments In The Harry Potter Movies
8. "He Was Their Friend!" - Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban
Harry Potter crying was never going to be cool, as witnessed by this scene in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, where... well, Harry cries. After finding out that his godfather, Sirius Black, "betrayed" his parents, Harry runs off into the woods and bawls his eyes out. When Ron and Hermione show up to offer support, they find him sobbing in a glade like a little kid whose had his lunch money stolen. Already, this is a cringeworthy sequence of the highest proportions: Radcliffe is totally unconvincing. And then the most cringeworthy moment emerges, as Harry screams into Hermione's face - whilst she's trying to make him feel better - the immortal line: "He was their friend!" And Hermione was yours, Harry, until you just yelled right into her eyeballs. The line deliveries get worse and worse from this point on, as Radcliffe clumsily deploys the dialogue cue: "I hope he finds me. Because when he does, I'm gonna be ready." Ron was wise to stand back - presumably a personal request from actor Rupert Grint, who couldn't hide his laughter whilst trying to shoot this scene. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0iK5Glt6tc&feature=kp
