10 Cures For Your Guardians Of The Galaxy Withdrawals

4. Farscape

It€™s fair to say that in a way Farscape was the lighter more family oriented version of Lexx, which eschewed Lexx€™s propensity for sex and gore for a more colourful world populated by Jim Henson€™s workshop. The most obvious parallel is the use of an organic ship, the crew in Farscape pilot the Moya, a living biomechanical ship. The connections to Guardians are more pertinent, like Guardians Farscape is a spacefaring adventure with an ensemble crew of humans and fantastical creatures. The most obvious parallel occurring via the character of John Crichton. Crichton is an astronaut from modern day earth sucked into this universe via a wormhole. He is our eyes and ears in the world of Farscape in much the same way Quill is in Guardians, and he inhabits a similar society populated by double-crossing duplicitous creatures of all shapes and sizes. Like Lexx Farscape does a great job of balancing humour with action and adventure, whilst being unafraid to take the story into darker areas. It€™s a great show to revisit in its own right but as a means of getting the similar kind of thrills and experiences by watching Guardians its indispensable.
