10 Dark Harry Potter Scenes That Were Excluded From The Films

9. Barty Crouch Jr's Dementor Kiss

If you’re terrified of the dementors you’re not alone, as J.K. Rowling herself says the dementors are the scariest thing she has created. A Dementor's Kiss is described as the Dementors forcing themselves upon you, sucking your soul out through your mouth, a fate worse than death.

In the Goblet of Fire, after it’s found that Barty Crouch Jr. was disguising himself as Alastor Moody to deliver Harry to Voldemort, the Ministry of Magic orders the Dementors to use the Kiss on Barty Jr. without Dumbledore’s consent.

The Kiss was organized before an official confession could be documented by Barty Crouch Jr., as Cornelius Fudge refused to believe that Voldemort had returned. Showing the removal of one's soul and their soulless body after would’ve been traumatizing to see on the big screen, to say the least.

The scene also shows how selfish Cornelius Fudge was, not caring about the safety of Harry and the rest of the wizarding world, by taking away the one wizard who could’ve been able to convince the rest of the witches and wizards that Voldemort had indeed returned.
