10 Dark Moments In Disney Animated Films

Another Pixar feature with a very interesting concept.

Monsters Inc. took a very clever concept, in that monsters under your bed use the screams of the children to power their world in the same way that we would use fuel.

However, due to a scream shortage, Waternoose has to think of a way to save his company and, by extension, his world. Thus, we turn to Randall, who develops the Scream Extractor.

This machine is designed to drain the victim of their screams, to gain maximum yield and increase production. After trying to use Mike as a guinea pig for the machine, Sully saves him and throws Randall's assistant Fungus into the seat instead, and we see the effects of this torturous device.

The air is literally sucked out of Fungus' lungs, leaving him pale and almost unable to move. As a child, this may be hilarious to see a baddie getting what they deserve, but retrospectively, it is extremely dark - the intention was to use this on children! There is no way this wouldn't have proved lethal in that scenario.
