8. Black Adam

Johnson was also rumored at one point to be involved in a Shazam! movie, possibly playing the title character (once known as Captain Marvel) but more likely taking on the role of the nemesis: Black Adam. This project has since been shelved, but that doesn't necessarily mean Johnson's chances of playing Black Adam have evaporated. For a while, the Marvel Family and Black Adam had slipped into near-obscurity, partially due to legal rights over the name of the family. Renamed Shazam!, these characters have enjoyed a surge in popularity as of late, rising to prominence in DC's stable of comic book characters. Seeing these characters brought to life onscreen would be epic, and The Rock has the huge presence necessary to make Black Adam feel like the formidable opponent he is in the comics. There are some obvious hurdles here, though, chief among them the fact that Batman vs. Superman is looking pretty packed already - with the two titular characters, Wonder Woman, rumored Flash, rumored Nightwing, rumored Martian Manhunter - and the addition of a few more beings with powers similar to Superman's would feel incredibly forced. However, if DC really does have some kind of separate secret project in the works for 2014, it could involve Shazam! and Black Adam. While standing on its own feet and possibly starting a franchise of its own, the Shazam! world could one day meet the Man of Steel arc. This would be huge for DC, as it would open future opportunities while simultaneously pulling away from the Marvel formula. Chances Dwayne Johnson will play Black Adam: Slim, unless DC is willing to be really bold in crafting the early stages of the DC Cinematic Universe.
