10 DC Comics Characters Dwayne Johnson Could Be Playing

7. Doomsday

The Thing That Killed Superman has been mentioned once or twice after Johnson's tweet, but hasn't gained nearly the amount of traction as other rumors. Doomsday will likely show up at some point to pound on Cavill's Superman, but DC may want to wait a little while before killing off the character that just started their film universe one movie ago. And frankly, aside from his physique and his associations with the death of Superman, Doomsday isn't all that interesting. His connection to Krypton could (and most definitely will) tie in to what we saw of Krypton in the prologue of Man of Steel, and his "birth" on that planet may give us another glimpse into the origins of Superman himself. But Doomsday is a mindless killing machine, no motives aside destruction, and Dwayne Johnson is better than than. Sure, his massive frame would fit the part. But his charisma as an actor would be wasted in the guise of the drooling Doomsday. But again - who knows? Johnson has multiple franchises and other films going for him right now, and nothing in his fated tweet signaled that this role wouldn't just be a cameo or a minuscule appearance. His Fast & Furious buddy Vin Diesel is reportedly recording only a single line for Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, and this could be something similar. It's unlikely, but it could be all Johnson wants to take on at the moment. Chances Dwayne Johnson will play Doomsday: Slim.
