10 DC Villains Who Need Their Own Standalone Film

8. Red Hood

DC Comics

Ever since Ben Affleck's excessively dark take on Batman was announced, fans were hoping that they may see the silver screen debut of Jason Todd, the second Robin who eventually became The Red Hood. Although those dreams were destroyed when we found out Batman never took a second Robin after Dick Grayson's death, a standalone film about the estranged Bat-Family member would be hard to resist.

The character has remained a fan favourite for his stark contrast to Batman. While Bruce Wayne ensures he never kills anyone, Red Hood is a ruthless murderer, and whether or not Batman makes an appearance, his influence on Todd should be clear.

With the right crew, this film could have the best action ever seen in a superhero film. A top choice would surely be John Wick director Chad Stahelski, who has created one of the most iconic action franchises in recent history in a very short space of time and could bring something entirely new to the superhero genre.
