10 Deaths That Movies Totally Forgot About

4. Sévérine - Skyfall

Skyfall's main Bond girl - if you don't count M (Judi Dench), of course - is Sévérine (Bérénice Marlohe), an associate of villain Raoul Silva (Javier Bardem) who helps Bond (Daniel Craig) make contact with him.

Sévérine has one of the most twisted, troubled backstories of any Bond girl, being a former sex slave who was "rescued" from the trade by Silva, for whom she is forced to work.

But because having Bond swiftly seduce Sévérine wasn't bad enough - again, her being a former sex slave - she's killed by Silva within minutes of making landfall on his island.

Even accepting that Bond's callous one-liner about her death being a "waste of good scotch" was merely a deliberate attempt to mask his actual feelings, the movie completely forgets about Sévérine the moment that Silva's bullet passes through her brain.

Given that she had one of the more potential-rich backstories in the franchise, it felt like such a waste to dispose of her so casually the moment that she served her narrative purpose of getting 007 to Silva.
