10 Decisions New Masters Of The Universe Movie Must Get Right

9. No Hokey "Artifacts"

Shaping Staff Hidden Eternian "artifacts" were a staple of the original cartoons. Skeletor and his cronies were forever on the lookout for that one item that would finally give them the upper hand in defeating He-Man. Just as a representative sample of this, season one of the original cartoon yielded episodes that focused on the obtaining and use of the following rare powerful items: The Shaping Staff, Diamond Ray of Disappearance, Photanium, Spellstone, Timewheel, Dragon Pearl, Transmutator, Masks of Power, Coridite, Staff of Avion, Magic Medallion, the "VHO", Starseed, Moorfire Stones, Eternium, Horn of Evil, Fountain of Life, and the Golden Disks of Knowledge. Even the first movie's plot hinged on the heroes protecting some ridiculous, musical "Cosmic Key". The right decision: Focus on character conflict and development to enrich the plot. The wrong decision: A two-hour race to keep Skeletor from obtaining the "Lost Eternian Pan Flute of Destiny".
