10 Delayed Movies That Will Land In 2021 And Still Bomb At The Box Office

After landing an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for reprising his career-defining role as Rocky Balboa in Creed, many were hoping that Sylvester Stallone would seize the opportunity to mount an unlikely late-career renaissance as a grizzled dramatic talent.
That turned out to be wishful thinking, because in virtually no time at all Sly was back up to his old tricks and mowing down rows of faceless goons in forgettable shoot-em-ups. Since Creed he's seen two Escape Plan sequels and crime thriller Backtrace head straight to video, while Rambo: Last Blood was savaged by critics and sank at the box office.
Stallone returns to the action genre next year in subversive superhero movie Samaritan, which was originally scheduled to arrive in November, and despite director Julius Avery's Overlord showing him as a filmmaker more than capable of crafting solid genre thrills, the smart money is on yet another entry in the Italian Stallion's long list of commercial disappointments.
The calendar shift has done Samaritan no favors, and as well as limited appeal to even diehard fans of superhero stories in lands smack in the middle of the most crowded time of the year where Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Godzilla vs. Kong, Jurassic World: Dominion, Venom: Let There Be Carnage and Top Gun: Maverick will all be competing for the exact same audience at the exact same time.
