5. Stan Lee Was Originally Going To Play Lambshank - Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3

Back when James Gunn originally wrote the script for his third and final Guardians of the Galaxy picture, the director planned to once again throw the legendary Stan Lee into his movie.

Rather than have Stan the Man pop up as another citizen on Xandar or an astronaut conversing with the Watchers during Vol. 3, however, Gunn actually wanted to have Lee play an animated character by the name of Lambshank.

But after very much writing that character for Stan originally as a way to get him into the movie without the ageing icon needing to head out to Atlanta to shoot, those plans were changed following Lee sadly passing away a few months after Gunn's firing from the project in July 2018.

So, as revealed in the film's director's commentary (via Collider), when Gunn was eventually reinstated as Vol. 3's director in March 2019, he instead opted to play the creature created by the High Evolutionary in the emotional conclusion to his Guardians trilogy.

And with Gunn stepping in for the late great Lee in the end, the originally planned "little Stan Lee-like face" that was set to be put on the character was very much dropped, too.
