6. John Wick Clearly LIVED At One Point - John Wick: Chapter 4

Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning
Lionsgate

This year's fourth chapter in the John Wick story left its audience to decide whether or not they'd truly seen the last of 'Baba Yaga'.

After being severely wounded by Caine during the pair's climactic duel, Mr. Wick manages to brilliantly trick the Marquis into swapping himself into the action before unleashing a surprise third bullet still sitting in his pistol.

From here, the iconic assassin takes a moment to think about his late wife before seemingly succumbing to his injuries on the steps of the Basilica of Sacré Coeur, with Winston and the Bowery King eventually saying goodbye to their friend at his grave in the wake of his "death."

According to director Chad Stahelski (via Empire), though, this wasn't actually the only ending he shot.

There was actually an alternate conclusion, one that was tested in front of an audience, where Wick obviously survived his wounds and was seen walking around at the end of the flick.

Audiences actually preferred the more ambiguous ending, however. So, Stahelski happily deleted that less mysterious finale and went with the conclusion both he and Keanu Reeves had wanted all along.
