10 Deleted Scenes That Explain Confusing Horror Movie Moments

9. Cabin Fever - Paul Keeps A Hostage

The deleted scene in question is available on YouTube, although it is (unsurprisingly) age restricted. Cabin Fever (2002) is an extremely dark film, sprinkled with moments of comedy, from director Eli Roth. It falls very much into the body horror genre and it not for the faint of heart.

After the group of vacationers begin to get infected by a flesh-eating virus one by one, Paul (Rider Strong) becomes increasingly desperate in his situation. It is unlikely that the local police are going to let he or his friends leave, for fear of passing on the infection. He comes across a redneck, who attempts to take them out.

In the deleted scene, Paul takes this redneck captive and hides him in the basement of the cabin. He demands that the man explain to the locals that Paul and his friends are innocent, insofar as they didn't bring the virus down on the town.

The plan unfortunately goes nowhere, as no one survives long enough to tell anyone about the man in the basement. However, it does explain a line at the end of the movie where the police discuss another body being found under the cabin. Without this scene, this is one additional number to the dead bodies lying strewn throughout the forest.
