10 Deleted Scenes That Radically Change Famous Films

5. John Hammond Was An Actual Villain

Jurassic Park seemed like a series of unfortunate events rather than any sort of Machiavellian plot to kill of a bunch of palaeontologists with cloned dinosaurs. Sure, Newman from Seinfeld was undoubtedly a douche, but he just wanted to engage in some industrial espionage. He didn'€™t want to get anybody killed. Neither did John Hammond, Richard Attenborough€™'s softly spoken billionaire businessman whose endeavour is fuelled by both a financial investment and genuine scientific wonder and curiosity.

Dennis Nedry is as close to a human villain Jurassic Park gets; at least, he is in the finished film. There€™'s a bunch of deleted scenes from the film, but the one that most radically changes things involved that sickly triceratops that gets Laura Dern cut off from the rest of the group early on. Apparently poop is better to look at that Sam Neill. That was supposed to start off a subplot where it turns out Hammond intentionally did a bunch of dodgy gene-splicing stuff, playing god to ensure the dinosaurs lived short, painful lives. More of a mad scientist that kindly, misguided uncle.
