10 Deleted Scenes That Radically Change Famous Films

4. Frozen Almost Spoilt Its Central Conflict

Disney finally got back on top without the help of Pixar with Frozen, an update to their usual princess fare (following the similarly non-traditional take on Rapunzel, Tangled) starring the wickedly talented Idina Mendez as Elsa in a loose adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen's Snow Queen. Except slightly less soul-destroying as Andersen€™'s stories tended to be.

Elsa is isolated since childhood from her younger sister Anna, owing to an incident where her ability to control ice, snow and everything cold caused a wee bit of trouble. They grow up fairly distant as a result, with the plot of the film involving another of those incidents, Anna running away, and Elsa trying desperately to find her. Then there€™'s some stuff about reindeer, sassy snowmen, and letting things go, or something.

Anyway, in the space of just 45 seconds, a deleted scene shows it could've totally spoilt that plot: it depicts the sisters hanging out, trying on clothes together before Elsa's coronation, implying they€™'re actually pretty good friends after all, robbing the story of an emotional core or character development. Woops.
