10 Deleted Stars That Were Bigger Than The Final Movie

7. Paul Rudd - Bridesmaids

Kristen Wiig, Rose Byrne and Melissa McCarthy all broke out in a big way thanks to Paul Feig's Bridesmaids, with each going on to bag more significant gigs in comedy movies from it. Coming up to release, though, Paul Rudd was still by far the biggest star in the movie. Then Feig cut him out. According to Wiig, Rudd's appearance as Dave, a guy who Wiig's Annie briefly dates, didn't sit well with test audiences, presumably in part because Dave interrupts a date on the ice rink to threaten a small boy with a beating. Audiences at preview screenings apparently didn't like seeing the normally loveable comedian this way (he also calls the child a "twot"), so Feig and co-writer Wiig made the difficult decision to de-Rudd the movie. The deleted scenes are available on the Bridesmaids home video release, but Anchorman and Role Models fans should be made aware in advance that Paul Rudd has never been more offensively punch-worthy.
