10 Depressing Things About Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn Of Justice

3. This Is The DC Cinematic Universe We're Stuck With

We're locked into this one, guys. After Dawn of Justice comes Justice League (which is kind of odd - shouldn't justice come AT the 'dawn of justice', not a couple of years later?), and then the eight or so other DCCU movies Warners supposedly has in the works. Are you sure this is the comic book world you want, in which the most controversial depiction of Superman ever exists and the greatest, brightest collection of heroes the world has ever seen is brought together by two of their best members beating the Krypto-snot out of each other? No? We're not sure either. While it makes sense that DC wants to set its own movie-verse apart from Marvel's, the latter has set a pretty stellar example and it seems foolhardy to disregard it outright just for the sake of being different. Perhaps it's our own fault for letting Snyder and company get away with it for this long. This may not be the cinematic universe we need, but it might well be the one we deserve.
