10 Most Desirable Girlfriends In Comic Book Movies

7. Betty Ross (Jennifer Connelly) €“ Hulk

Ang Lee€™s Hulk has been raked over the coals many times since its release, and is sometimes compared unfavorably with its successor, 2008€™s The Incredible Hulk reboot that brought the green giant into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And though The Incredible Hulk did do some things better than Hulk, one aspect it did not get better was in the portrayal of Betty Ross. Jennifer Connelly is an extremely talented actress, and casting her as Betty Ross was probably the second-best decision that casting director made (the first was getting Sam Elliott to play her father, Thunderbolt Ross). They made some changes to Betty€™s character, turning her into a scientist instead of just the daughter of a general, and it was a change that worked. Connelly€™s Ross provides an emotional rock for Bruce to anchor himself to. She avoids the traps that her successor, Liv Tyler, fell into, never once devolving into a hysterical fit of crying. Betty remains a solid figure throughout the entire film, and many of the best scenes in the movie are those with her. It€™s a shame that the stigma of the film prevented us from getting another performance as Betty out of Connelly.
