10 Most Desirable Girlfriends In Comic Book Movies

5. Knives Chau (Ellen Wong) €“ Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World

In the previous article, we put down Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World€™s Ramona Flowers as one of the most annoying girlfriends. It€™s interesting to note here that the original ending for the film (shot before the final issue of the comic was released) had Michael Cera€™s Scott end up not with Mary-Elizabeth Winstead€™s Ramona, but rather Knives Chau, played excellently by Ellen Wong. Knives is introduced in the movie as Scott€™s high school girlfriend, and while this does border a bit on creepy for Scott, Wong helps bring the character to life and it becomes a bit heartbreaking when Scott cheats on her to be with Ramona. Snubbed, Knives cuts her hair, dyes it blue, and swears revenge. Knives goes from sweet, innocent, naive high school girl to vengeance-driven, but then we see that innocence come back when she goes fangirl in Envy€™s presence. She even comes to Scott€™s defense against Gideon (even though he clearly doesn€™t deserve it), and proves to be more than capable with the weapons she€™s named after. The biggest problem with Knives is why would she even be interested in Scott to begin with, when he€™s far below her level. In that way, maybe it€™s best that the ending was changed and Scott ended up with Ramona.
