10 Most Desirable Girlfriends In Comic Book Movies

4. Selina Kyle (Anne Hathaway) €“ The Dark Knight Rises

The Dark Knight Rises had its fair share of problems, many of which we€™ve documented before. One of those problems, however, was not the addition of Anne Hathaway€™s portrayal of Selina Kyle. As fans of the Batman comics are already very familiar with, Catwoman is an important character in the mythos. She straddles the line between hero and villain, shares a mutual attraction with the Caped Crusader, and can stand up both to him and any villains that come his way. Hathaway beautifully captured the essence of Selina in both the physical (not only because of her stunning looks but because her movements were exactly what we€™d picture from Catwoman) but also the emotional. We see Selina torn between her attraction to Bruce and doing what€™s right and doing what€™s profitable for her. The Dark Knight Rises was criticized for its lack of humor, but what levity we do get is rendered perfectly by Selina. She never falls into the damsel trap, being used as bait by Bane and Talia. Instead, it€™s Selina who has to come to Batman€™s rescue by taking out Bane. Now that Nolan€™s films are finished and Warner Bros. Are moving ahead on a cinematic DC universe that will reboot Batman, it€™s unlikely that we€™ll see Hathaway get another chance to reprise her role as Catwoman. That€™s a pity, because Hathaway brought a lot to the character and she€™ll be a hard act to follow.
