10 Detestable Movie Villains We Never See

5. Death - Final Destination

The whole glorious conceit of the Final Destination movies it that the hapless central characters are pursued by Death itself - an invisible, seemingly shapeless force which pulls the strings and dictates when people die.

Even though Death is really just enacting the "natural" order of things - we've all gotta die sometime, after all - the elaborate means through which it attempts to "claim" those who cheat death, killing them in staggeringly elaborate ways, certainly suggests the entity has a real vindictive streak.

But save for a few brief shadowy glimpses of... something in the first Final Destination, the films have largely shied away from giving Death a definitive form.

Sure, there are those who believe that mortician William Bludworth (Tony Todd) is Death incarnate, but it's still just a compelling theory.

The notion of Death teeing up everyone's demise from behind the scenes, moving through the world unseen by humanity, is far creepier than a digital beastie ever would be.
