7. Venom
There was apparently the option of Spidey appearing in The Sinister Six film (which would make sense since, y'know, their whole bag is trying to kill him and introducing some Spidey villains before they've actually faced him and then having them try and redeem themselves doesn't make a lot of sense), something which presumably would've been in the mix for the mooted Venom solo film that Sony have been touting alongside their other supervillain flick. Venom's origin story is so deeply rooted in Spidey that, again, doing it as a separate film seems like an odd choice. The saga of the black alien suit that corrupts Peter Parker's mind before winding up with the much more villainous host of Eddie Brock was already down to varying degrees of success with Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3, so either Sony are hoping people remember that, or want them to forget, or a weird combination of the two. Apparently Star Trek writing duo Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are working with Ed Solomon on a script, with Kurtzman in line to direct, with different incarnations of the character being considered. Like, maybe the recent version where ex-Spidey bully Flash Thompson, back from Iraq and missing his legs, bonds with the symbiote to become covert Agent Venom? Because that would be badass.
