8. Leigh Whannell - Venom 3
As has been pointed out on this site previously, Upgrade was 2018's best Venom movie.
It featured a story about a man that has another entity forced into his body and finds himself with a variety of new abilities because of it. This entity is not benign though, and, much like a certain alien symbiote, is sentient and able to take over its host's body. Heck, Upgrade's lead even looked like Tom Hardy.
The difference is, Upgrade did everything better. As such, Leigh Whannel, the writer/director of Upgrade, should be given the reigns of the Sony franchise.
Unfortunately, Venom 2 already has Andy Serkis to direct so Whannell would likely have to wait till the third film, if Serkis does a poor job that is.
