10 Directors For The New Spider-Man Movie

2. Drew Goddard

Unless things have drastically changed since Marvel and Sony reached their deal, Drew Goddard should definitely be considered as a firm favourite for the job. Attached to write and direct Sinister Six, that movie is no longer being released in 2016 despite claims that it is still in development. The fact is that the Sinister Six teased at the end of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 no longer exist, so the project is as good as dead for the time being. There's every chance that Sony find a way of making it fit into the new Spider-Man's world of course, but leaked "Sony Hack" emails revealed that they wanted Goddard to take charge of the Marvel Studios produced reboot. Though Marvel seemingly don't have the final say on this decision, will they be willing to work with The Cabin in the Woods director after he quit as Daredevil's showrunner in order to focus on that now scrapped Sinister Six spinoff? Hopefully, as there's a lot to get excited over when it comes to thinking about what a Drew Goddard Spider-Man movie would look like. He's clearly interested in this corner of the Marvel Universe, and his past work indicates that he would definitely bring something new to the world of Spidey if given the chance. Reunite him with Whedon and it's set!
