If all goes according to plan, Joe and Anthony Russo will be the men responsible for introducing a new Spider-Man to the world in Captain America: Civil War next year. The brothers blew everyone away with Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and with Joss Whedon seemingly stepping down from the Avengers franchise, they look poised to take over as reports indicate that they will next take on the two-part Avengers: Infinity War. If that doesn't happen though (Whedon made similar comments about his future with Marvel after the release of The Avengers, and got a huge new deal to helm the sequel after the first grossed north of $1.5 billion), then it feels appropriate for them to possibly take over the reigns of the new Spider-Man franchise. They even offered to produce Sony's planned reboot last year according to a number of "Sony Hack" emails, so they're interested. What they offer should be obvious after Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and it will be the Russos who have the best understanding of the new Spider-Man after using him in Civil War. Throw in the fact that they're big comic book fans, and you can pretty much guarantee that their take on the iconic Marvel superhero would be nothing short of amazing.
