After what happened with Ant-Man, convincing Edgar Wright to return to Marvel could be a tough sell. They may have parted on amicable terms (or so it's claimed), but you have to imagine that the British director isn't happy with his passion project being taken from him after working on it for so many years. Of course, when it comes to Spider-Man, he wouldn't be working with Marvel directly as Sony are still financing and in control creatively. Seeing Wright's take on a superhero movie is something which his fans are desperate to see, and from a visual standpoint, you have to imagine that there's a lot he could do with Spider-Man. Wright is also a master when it comes to humour, and that is something the dreary Amazing Spider-Man films - which admittedly had the odd quip - were sorely lacking. Would Wright be able to make himself fit into the big budget studio system though? Many were quick to rush to his defence when he parted ways with Marvel, but they only wanted Wright to better incorporate Ant-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. If he's not willing to play ball, it could be hiring him is just too risky for this next Spider-Man reboot.
