Bringing back Sam Raimi would be a shock to say the least, but thanks to the "Sony Hack", it's something that everyone knows Amy Pascal did consider at one point. For some, this suggestion will likely cause horror to spread across their faces after the disaster which was Spider-Man 3, but it's unfair to blame Raimi entirely for that. He was saddled with a messy script and a lot fo interference from higher ups and bumbling buffoon Avi Arad. Before the threequel brought the franchise to an end and led to the Marc Webb and Andrew Garfield led reboot in 2012, Raimi brought fans two really fantastic Spider-Man movies, and Spider-Man 2 is still arguably one of the best comic book movies to date. His take on the character certainly had some issues, but many of those could be solved by working with a much better script. Raimi's love of the early '60s set Spider-Man stories could also be a welcome addition to this retelling of Peter Parker's early years, while Marc Webb never really came close to ever recreating the amazing webswinging sequences. If they looked that good in 2002, just imagine what the Evil Dead helmer could to nowadays!
