3. Clint Eastwood
Another iconic director known for intense films, Eastwood's Batman would be -- intriguing. Eastwood might take Batman toward his detective routes, or make him a bad-ass who fights criminals. I have no idea exactly which way he'd go. I do know, however, that it would be awesome. Eastwood's Unforgiven featured a tortured man haunted by his past sins, unwilling to take a life until pushed to his limits. Gran Torino featured a new slant on vigilante justice. All great credentials for a strong Batman film, but the most important element is that Eastwood has no limitations. He's not afraid to take a story in a strange, even disturbing route if it means bettering the narrative. The only weird thing is if Eastwood cast himself as Alfred. Imagine that? I'm kind of laughing a bit to myself now, but admit it: that would be interesting.
