10 Directors Who Could Replace Josh Trank On Star Wars
5. Gareth Evans
Okay, this one’s cheating a bit since he hasn’t really done a sci-fi film, but his style of directing is just too visceral to ignore. Visually and stylistically, The Raid films are something special. In the world of bounty hunters, there’s sure to be plenty of action and his energetic direction, practical stunts, and frenetic pacing could work wonders.
Though he improved upon this aspect in The Raid 2, the biggest criticism levelled against him is that his storylines are too simple and bare-bones. Still, in this instance, he wouldn’t be in charge of scripting, and could instead focus his efforts on his patented mix of fight choreography, trailblazing cinematography and knee-jerk editing.
He’s been rumoured for big studio films before so he’s definitely a talent that’s understandably been looked at.
