10 Directors Who Could Replace Josh Trank On Star Wars

4. Joseph Kosinski

Boba Fett 3
Universal Pictures

Yes, the guy who made TRON: Legacy and Oblivion. Say what you will about those films (because they were both horrifically underwhelming and thinly scripted) but they both looked and sounded incredible. His images are photographic, his visual effects are breathtaking, and his music is symphonic; technically speaking, the guy is top notch.

Kosinski undeniably gives his films a unique visual flair and with so many cooks in the kitchen regarding Star Wars, it could be best that the director not focus on the story, but rather it’s visual execution. He seems like the kind of director that has a science-fiction masterpiece in him, so long as he’s given a really good script.

He has experience with big budget fare and with stepping into existing franchises. The only holdup is that he’s supposed to enter production on TRON 3 this fall, but if Disney was really interested in him, they probably wouldn’t mind moving him over and delaying TRON. It's not as if fans from that franchise aren't accustomed to waiting a little bit for sequels.

Connor loves movies, comics, and TV, and is trying to write for people who feel the same way. When he's not sitting on the couch with his laptop, you might find him lying in his bed with his laptop.
