10 Directors Who Could Take Over Avengers: Infinity War From Joss Whedon

10. Jon Favreau

After Iron Man 2, most comic book fans would probably be happier if Jon Favreau stayed away from the genre, but does he not deserve another chance? The sequel's script was appalling, and Chef proves that the director still has what it takes to deliver a movie just as amazing as the first Iron Man. By the time Avengers: Infinity War arrives, it will likely be the last appearance that many of the original actors, with their multi-picture deals set to expire. Of course, some might return, while others will look to move on. However you look at it, the two-part movie is set to change the landscape of the Marvel Cinematic Universe massively as it moves into 2020 and beyond. It would be fitting then to bring back the man who started it all with Iron Man. After all, it was that first after-credits scene which paved the way for everything that followed, and allowing Favreau to tell the story he in some ways began could be a sensible move on Marvel's part. He is still on good terms with them, so you never know.
