10 Directors Who Could Take Over Avengers: Infinity War From Joss Whedon

9. J. J. Abrams

After taking the USS Enterprise into outer space in Star Trek and then heading to a Galaxy Far, Far Away with Star Wars: The Force Awakens, could another cosmic journey be on the cards for J.J. Abrams? He now has a relationship with Disney too, so it probably wouldn't take that much convincing on their part to get him to tackle a Marvel movie. Is there a better option than Avengers: Infinity War? While it may seem repetitive in some ways for him to tackle another movie which may be set primarily away from Earth, comic book fans have been crying out for Abrams to take on a superhero movie for years now, and him bringing his vision to the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be incredible. Lens flare jokes aside, Abrams is a talented director who has proven again and again that he can deliver the goods. Having the man who brought Star Wars back (let's assume for now that the movie itself is as amazing as the teaser trailer) direct the two-part Avengers: Infinity War would also help to make it feel like a real event to moviegoers as well.
