10 Directors Who Could Take Over Avengers: Infinity War From Joss Whedon
8. George Nolfi
The Adjustment Bureau flew under the radar of a lot of moviegoers when it was released back in 2011, but Marvel clearly noticed as they were at one point considering George Nolfi as the director of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. It's not hard to see why either, as the director used that movie to showcase what an inventive filmmaker he is. Nolfi has taken a fairly lengthy break from making movies since, but does have a few other projects lined up. Entrusting a relatively inexperienced director with a movie as important as Avengers: Infinity War might seem like a mistake, but is it that any different to Marvel trusting Kenneth Branagh, James Gunn, or The Russo Brothers? Not really. This would undoubtedly be something of a gamble on Marvel's part, but one which could pay off and result in a truly incredible film. Avengers: Infinity War is sure to be heavy on action, but Nolfi has proven himself to be adept at handling characters remarkably well, something it's hard to imagine he would sacrifice in place of big budget special effects.
