10 Directors Who Could Take Over Avengers: Infinity War From Joss Whedon

7. Duncan Jones

Moon and Source Code put British director Duncan Jones on the map, and that explains why he was later entrusted with adapting World Of Warcraft. Fans haven't seen much from the movie as of yet, but it will make or break Jones' future as someone who can helm both intelligent smaller movies and massive blockbusters that dominate the box office. Either way, comic book readers would still love to see him take a crack at a superhero project. Avengers: Infinity War is going to be a massive two-part movie with a lengthy production schedule, and letting Jones take on that responsibility would be another possible gamble on Marvel's part. By that point though, he'll have proven himself with Warcraft. Experience with outer space thanks to Moon is a bonus, but what Jones did from a creative standpoint on that movie is actually far more important. As well as being visually stunning, he also took a lot of inspiration from the original Star Wars trilogy by using miniatures, and while they wouldn't be required here, he would surely bring something unique to the table.
