10 Disappointing Films That Deserve A Second Chance
So here we are: the most widely reviled movie of 2016 (so far), the movie that singlehandedly caused heads to roll at Warner Bros and gave the studio reason to rethink its forthcoming superhero releases blah blah blah.
Such nonsense detracts from how good Ben Affleck is as the caped crusader, easily stealing the movie from the dour, humourless Superman. More Frank Miller than Tim Burton, Afflecks Knight really is Dark. Check out the scenes where he discusses taking out the man of steel with Alfred (Jeremy Irons) or the moment when he asks Superman Do you bleed? This is not your dads Batman.
The first flop to gross $872 million, Batman Vs Superman is really no better or worse than Man Of Steel (make of that what you will) and its poor standing seems to stem from its inability to clobber Marvel at the box office. Not that theres more here than meets the eye, but if you want two and a half hours of CRASH and POW with a supporting cast of Oscar winners, you could do worse.
