10 Disappointing Films That Deserve A Second Chance

3. Spectre
Blofeld Spectre

No doubt about it: if youre looking for nuance and sophistication (and a decent theme song) youre far better off watching Casino Royale or Skyfall. Spectre is pretty shallow, and the slither of plot Bond protects Mr Whites daughter from Blofeld, who wants to control the security services is somehow stretched out to two and a half hours.

But if all you want from a Bond film is to see Daniel Craig (whos starting to resemble Steve McQueen) demolish buildings and throw people out of helicopters, then dont miss Spectres pre-credits sequence. Theres plenty more action to come, including car chases, a game of chicken between a plane and a car, and a fight with Dave Bautista intended to rival our memories of 007s fisticuffs with Red Grant in From Russia With Love.

Top it off with The Biggest Explosion In Film History (according to the DVD), and you have an entry thats a better action movie than either Quantum Of Solace or Skyfall. Then theres Christoph Waltzs Blofeld, whos a villain in the classic tradition, giving Bond a guided tour of his lair before attempting to kill him.
