10 Disgraceful Actor Egos That Ruined Movies

8. Val Kilmer - Red Planet

Believe it or not but once upon a time Val Kilmer actually had a promising career. After critically acclaimed roles in The Doors and Tombstone, he certainly looked set for future success. At least until he allegedly being a "difficult" co-star, that is.

In the late 90s, Kilmer found himself working on the set of sci-fi thriller Red Planet alongside fellow actor Tom Sizemore. According to a memoir penned by Sizemore (who by all accounts is no angel) the pair came to blows while filming when Kilmer got offended by the fact the production paid for Sizemore’s exercise machine to be shipped out to the Australian set, gloated about his bigger pay check and was horrid to several crew members.

Director Antony Hoffman apparently had his hands too full mediating between the two sparring stars because he neglected to make a movie actually worth watching. Funnily enough, Red Planet was Hoffman’s first and only feature film. Seems the experience put him off Hollywood for life.
